1. About Hourgap
Hourgap is a private, invite-only utility that helps people in different places see one another's city and local time. It has no public feed, follower list, or public people search.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 14 and legally able to agree to these terms. If local law requires a higher age or parental consent, that rule applies.
- Provide accurate information and keep access to your sign-in email or provider account secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly through Support if you believe it has been compromised.
3. Rooms and invitations
- Keep invite codes private. Anyone with a valid code can preview limited room details and may be able to join unless the room is locked or full.
- Room members can see the profile, city, country, time zone, and current local-time information you share.
- A room owner can remove members, lock the room to new joins, and delete it. You can leave a room at any time.
- If a room owner deletes their account, ownership may transfer to the longest-standing remaining member. A room with no remaining members is deleted.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of names, photos, room names, and other content you submit. You give Hourgap a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups or records we must retain.
You confirm that you have the right to upload your content and that it does not violate another person's privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Impersonate someone, harass people, share unlawful or harmful content, or violate another person's rights.
- Probe, bypass, or interfere with security, access controls, capacity limits, or normal operation.
- Use automated methods to scrape, create accounts, enumerate invite codes, or overload the service.
- Use Hourgap for emergencies, safety-critical decisions, stalking, or tracking another person's precise location.
6. Location and time accuracy
City and local-time information is provided for convenience. It depends on the city and time zone selected or derived from device and third-party services. Daylight-saving rules and place information can change. We do not guarantee complete accuracy, and you should not rely on Hourgap where an error could cause harm or loss.
7. Third-party services
Hourgap relies on third-party services for authentication, infrastructure, maps, location conversion, and email delivery. Their own terms may apply to their services. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
8. Availability and changes
We may update, limit, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, or improve the service. Hourgap may be unavailable at times. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Hourgap or delete your account at any time. We may restrict or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created risk for other users or the service, or if required by law. When practical, we will provide notice.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hourgap is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hourgap and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, goodwill, or profits arising from the service. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the updated version here and change the date above. Continuing to use Hourgap after updated terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account.
